This project comes as the result of a proposal put forward by the city of Chamonix for the creation of a wellness center (spa, aqua-fitness, sport). The proposed building developed into three branches that offer three great views of the Mont Blanc mountain range peaks.
The architectural design of the project is based on a double sloping roof. With an overriding use of wood and its accessible scale, the concept maintains the traditional heritage of Chamonix, but with its contemporary glazed gables it is a modern reinterpretation of the Savoyard cottage or “mazot” and chalet.
The interior spaces are generously sized, colorful and fluid. Double and triple-aspects are favored to ensure additional light and natural ventilation. The floor plan design is both adaptable and progressive, radiating outwards from a central hall and inviting nature and vegetation in to the buildings: the outdoor spaces are densely vegetated and designed as open courtyards where the eye can naturally wander.
The architectural style of the project respects the local heritage while the technical choices (solar thermal roofing, ventilation, reinforced indoor/outdoor insulation, nearby heating substation, low-emission windows and compactness) are in keeping with the usage. This understated and landscape-oriented design results in an architecture that aims to be perfectly integrated into its surroundings.

Este proyecto responde a una petición de la localidad de Chamonix para la construcción de un centro de bienestar (SPA, aqua fitness, deporte). El edificio propuesto se desarrolla en tres alas que ofrecen tres grandes encuadres visuales sobre la cadena montañosa del Mont-Blanc.
La arquitectura de cubierta con dos inclinaciones, con la omnipresencia de la madera y su escala doméstica, recuerda el patrimonio tradicional de Chamonix. Las contemporáneas fachadas laterales de vidrio, se conciben como una reinterpretación moderna del chalet y del “mazot” saboyano.
El interior cuenta con espacios generosos, muy coloridos y fluidos. Se han favorecido los espacios transversales y orientaciones triples para garantizar el aporte lumínico y ventilación natural. La forma de estrella del conjunto es adaptable y evolutiva, y permite situar la naturaleza y la vegetación lo más cerca posible de los edificios: los exteriores cuentan con una densa vegetación y se han trabajado mediante avenidas abiertas donde la mirada puede encontrar en cualquier momento una via de escape.
El proyecto propone una arquitectura respetuosa con el patrimonio que ofrece alternativas técnicas (cubierta solar térmica, ventilación, aislamiento interior / exterior reforzado, calefacción subterránea, acristalamiento de baja emisividad, compacidad) a su utilización, una arquitectura sosegada, enfocada hacia el paisaje y perfectamente integrada en su entorno.
