CONTEST
This was a competition for rental housing, which placed a strong ambition on use value with a desire to reduce the formal and functional limits between different types of housing: individual houses, townhouses, intermediaires.
The project brings together the dwellings by four and proposes a singular architectural identity by the creation of large wooden cube houses. These are very simple volumetric assemblies which are characterized by the generosity of the openings and exterior extensions offered for each dwelling.
Unbuilt spaces are an integral part of the project: the access to the dwellings is in fact through passages that make the visual and physical link between the space of the street and the privacy of the plot.
The spatial quality of the dwellings is the starting point of the project. All accommodations have a double volume for stays and a triple orientation. They all benefit from two levels (or a level and a half) to preserve both the density sought and the residential qualities of the individual:
-“I’m going up to my room…”
– “ I go down to the kitchen…”

CONCURSO
Se trata de un concurso de viviendas para el arrendamiento con una fuerte intención depositada en el valor del uso y en la voluntad de atenuar los limites formales y funcionales entre las diferentes tipologías: individuales, viviendas unifamiliares, e intermediarias.
De esta forma, el proyecto reagrupa las viviendas de cuatro en cuatro y propone una identidad arquitectural singular a través de la creación de grandes casas-cubo de madera.
Se forman así conjuntos de volúmenes muy sencillos caracterizados por la generosidad de las aberturas y las prolongaciones hacia el exterior (balcones) que ofrece cada vivienda.
Los espacios no construidos forman parte integrante del proyecto: el acceso a las viviendas se compone efectivamente de pasajes que crean el hilo visual y físico entre el espacio de la calle y la intimidad de la parcela.
La calidad espacial de las viviendas es el punto de partida de este proyecto. Todas cuentan con un doble volumen para el salón y triple orientación. Y todas se benefician de dos niveles (o nivel y medio) para conservar tanto la densidad buscada, como las calidades residenciales de lo individual:
